Vatican Condemns US Border Fence
November 29, 2006 on 10:08 pm | In Catholic Church and American Policy | No CommentsWhy is this Vatican cardinal weighing in on the US border fence? If it is moral to have a border and to police who crosses it and when they cross it, then is it not moral to use a fence as a means toward that end? Analogies to Berlin Wall don’t hold up, because that wall was designed to keep people in, not out.
Vanity Fair Gets Whacked by National Review
November 29, 2006 on 9:51 pm | In The War in Iraq | 2 CommentsI was prepared to unleash a diatribe against Ricahrd Perle and the other neo-cons who pushed for the Iraq war and had supposedly since come out against Bush and the war. I should have considered the source, which was Vanity Fair. Thanks to National Review, which has interviewed each of the featured “neo-cons” and set the record straight, by providing a fuller context and more balanced presentation to their comments. I thought the elite liberal news organs were way into subltely. Apparently not in this case.
